Free live music at Coronation Park

Another great line-up will be taking to the stage for the second Mauao Performing Arts Centre Summer Series concert of 2015.

Another four hours of free live local music that's guaranteed to get your nono grooving is up for grabs down at Coronation Park in Mount Maunganui this Saturday, from 4pm.

The second Mauao Performing Arts Centre Summer Series concert for 2015 is taking place at Coronation Park on Saturday.

Held on the last Saturday of every month during summer, the series exposes the many talented local artists living here in the Bay of Plenty.

Spokesman Jay Munro says the centre puts on the show and production free of charge for the greater good of the community.

'We encourage all locals to come along and support some of the great creative talent the Bay of Plenty has on offer.

'Good tunes under the summer sun is the aim, lending to a laid back vibe great for the family.”

This will promise to be a great afternoon and early evening of music, laughs, fun and hopefully plenty of summer sun so make sure you don't miss out.

Taking to the stage this time around will be Josh Durning, Sam Dudley, Hello Realism, Aves and Vinyl Biscuit.

First up is guitarist extraordinaire Josh Durning will then take to the stage and the 15-year-old will show you why the future of local music is in very capable, and nimble hands.

He'll be followed up Mount College alumni Sam Dudley armed with her acoustic guitar, prodigious vocal chords and looped beat boxing skills.

Then it's three-piece instrumental band and genre demolishers Hello Realism, featuring the talents of former Mount College students Brandon Croton, Jesse Wiltshire and Harri Hashim.

Acoustic act Aves, featuring talented duo Jessica Ross and Sasha Paul, are sure to enthral with a stripped back sound and lush harmonies.

Last but not least Vinyl Biscuit featuring Charise Williams, Jules Brown, Rob Ashley, and Mike Lawrence return to the Summer Series with your fix of funky R&B that's great for the soul.

The Mauao Performing Arts Centre Summer Series is at Coronation Park from 4pm to 8pm, and entry is free.

Don't talk nonsense

Posted on 28-02-2015 21:00 | By How about this view!

These "FREE" events always have someone paying for them (Some council funding of some sort no doubt, creative Tauranga maybe?). SO, REALLY, how much is it costing and who is making the money?

Totally absurd....

nothing is "free", who is paying for cleaning up the aftermath for one?, want to take a guess?, a very small percentage of the population will "rock" along, but a large percentage will have to pay.
