Manawatu Area CIB are investigating a suspicious house fire which occurred at about 11pm on Thursday, 26 March 2015 in Dannevirke.

The property has been under scene guard overnight and a scene examination commenced this morning.

A resident was home at the time and managed to escape without injury.

A Fire Safety Officer is assisting police with the investigation.
