Woman charged with Ohauiti murder

Police have charged a third person with murder in relation to the death of Takena Tiepa-Ranapia last year.

Hyacin Eruera, 40, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder when she appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday.


Emergency services at the scene where Takena Tiepa-Ranapia's body was found in November last year.

She is also denying charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault with a weapon - charges which relate to the alleged assaults of two other people.

Eruera is jointly charged with Hiakita Eruera, 36, and Paul Taki, 37, for the murder of the 19-year-old.

Takena's body was found outside a house in Mansfield Street on Sunday, November 30 last year.

A post-mortem revealed Takena was the victim of an assault prior to his death.

Police are not commenting on the nature of his injuries as the investigation continues.

Taki and Hiakita Eruera are due back in the High Court in Rotorua for a callover on June 17.

A trial date has been set down for November 23.
