Earlier:
A section of the Takitimu Drive expressway is closed to rush hour traffic after a container came off a truck, hitting another car.
Emergency services are currently responding to the incident, which happened at around 7.55am at the merging lanes of Takitimu Drive, by the Waihi Road overbridge.
A trailer decoupled from a truck causing a blockage to the Northbound Lane of the Expressway.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager senior seargent Ian Campion says: "The north-bound lane heading towards the Mount between 11th Avenue and Elizabeth Street is completely blocked.
"A container has come off a heavy motor vehicle, coming from Bethlehem, and struck a car.
"There are no injures and we're currently working on clearing the scene.
"There is no way vehciles can pass through that area at the moment. If people can take alternative routes, that would be advisable.
"We envisage the road being closed for some time."

Those barriers aren't exactly relocatable. And even if they were the relocatable type, it would take at least half a day to move them all!
