Drivers are being asked to pay particular attention to new speed limits on the Omanawa River Bridge on State Highway 29 for the next few weeks.
The speed limit on the bridge is reduced to 30km/h, while maintenance work is carried out under the bridge.
'The public will not be able to see the workers but the lower speed limit will help minimise vibrations on the bridge and ensure the effectiveness of the maintenance work,” says a statement from the NZ Transport Agency.
'The NZ Transport Agency would like to thank motorists for their patience and apologises in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause.”

That whole Bridge needs widening its really odd trying to pass on that skinny bridge, same as the one near Kati kati in the dip before the mill, its the 21st centry and it could have been widend yrs ago but NO,im sure the $520 million Simple has offered to build a bypass could be used to widen it,(YEAH RIGHT) im sure other drivers know how awful it is to pass there at night,my thoughts only,my thoughts only Sunlive Thankyou,10-4 out.
