One person has been injured when a digger toppled into a ditch near Maketu this morning.
The man received minor injuries in the crash on Wilson Road North just after 8am.
A police media spokesperson says police were called to the crash scene following reports a digger had fallen in to a drain.
'It appears the digger has fallen into a drain while being unloaded off a truck,” she says.
'One person has minor injuries, fire were also at the scene.”
