Arrest in Papamoa road rage case

A man has been arrested following a road rage incident in Papamoa where another driver was struck in the face with a weapon.

The incident, which happened on Domain Rd, Papamoa 13 August, featured on Police Ten 7 last week in the hopes of generating information that would lead to an arrest.

Today Papamoa Police executed a search warrant at a residential address in Te Puke, and arrested a 25-year-old man in relation to the incident.

The man is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Monday, charged with assault with a weapon and cultivation of cannabis.

'I would like to thank everyone who rang in and supplied information to Police following the airing of the Ten 7 story, you r information has been invaluable in assisting us to locate the person responsible,” says Sergeant Tristan Murray, Officer in Charge of Papamoa Police Station.

'It is very much appreciated and will no doubt bring some comfort to the victim that we've been able to hold the offender to account.

'This is a great example of our local community and the Police working together to make Papamoa a safer place to live in.”

There's a lot of it around. I have to say the best city I have driven around in lately is Wellington. The drivers down there are so courteous, and the practice of "let one go" seems to be widespread.
