Police name missing Bay fisherman

The name of the Bay of Plenty man missing off the coast of Waihi has been released.

Rotorua man Jason Elijah Shane Manuka Lines has been missing since the boat he was in capsized on the Bowentown Bar on Monday night.

Jason was with another man and a 10-year-old boy when the boat flipped, both of whom made it back to shore.

"Despite an extensive Police-led search Jason has not been located," says piolice.

"Search teams, including the Police National Dive Squad and Royal New Zealand Navy are today completing their search of the area.

"Jason's family has been notified of the search progress to date and Police's thoughts are with them at this time.

"Police will continue to assess new information as it comes to hand."
