Motorists are being warned of temporary closures of Pekatahi Bridge, which is set to create detours through the Whakatane township.
The bridge will be closed while NZTA conducts maintenance on it from February 23 to 26 and again on March 3.
As a result of the closure, State Highway 2 and White Pine Bush Road will also be closed between Awakeri and the junction of Taneatua Road.
All traffic will be detoured via SH30 through Whakatane over the Landing Road bridge.
