Over 200 people attended a garden party hosted by Simon and Natalie Bridges on Saturday afternoon.
This year the annual event was held at one of Tauranga's hidden gems, the historic and privately owned Maungawhare homestead in Otumoetai.
The garden features established trees, planted over the last century, and guests were seated at tables across the lawn tennis court.
Guest speaker was National MP Maggie Barry, who attended with her husband Grant Kerr. The couple were married towards the end of last year after originally meeting while on an Outward Bound course.
Maggie is well-known for her television series ‘Maggie's Gardening Show', and she and Grant enjoyed a walk through the garden with owner Hilary Revfeim.
Also present at the National Party annual garden party were Bay of Plenty MP Todd Muller, Coromandel MP Scott Simpson, and Tauranga Mayor Greg Brownless.
One of Tauranga's oldest historic homes, Maungawhare Homestead is also celebrating its 140th birthday this year.

There are becoming far too many people in New Zealand who think the world owes them a living. They want it all, with little or no effort by themselves, except to hold out their hand for some other person's hard earned money.
