Two youths have been arrested in relation to an armed carjacking.

A woman was forced at gunpoint from her car on Stanley Street, Tokoroa, at 1pm yesterday.

"Two young males, believed to be in their mid-late teens and both wearing dark hoodies, pointed a gun at the woman, forcing her to get out of the car,” says police.

"The two males then drove away in the car, heading north towards Billah Street.”

Police say they arrested two youths in Putaruru earlier this morning.

“Police enquiries are continuing.”

People with information about the carjacking are asked to contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
