The Diamond Princess in port today is the largest of the five remaining passenger ships due to visit Tauranga before the cruiseship season ends in May.

Arriving back to the ship this afternoon from trips to Tauranga, the Waikato and Rotorua are some of the 2717 passengers. Jim and Barb Thorpe from Sunriver, Oregon were amongst them.

'We went to Hobbiton,” says Jim. 'That was beautiful. Then we went to the Maori Cultural Centre in Rotorua. It's been a full day.”
