Saturday okay, Sunday better

Not much sun, not much rain.

It's looking like an alrightish sort of weekend, not too hot, not too cold, a chance of a shower on Saturday.

'It's not looking too bad,” says Lisa Murray at MetService. 'Generally there's a ridge of high pressure over the whole country, what that means for you guys is tomorrow there is a bit of cloud increasing during the morning.

'There is a chance you could see one or two showers, not heavy showers, but not ideal - if you are looking to sunbathe.

'If things work out perfectly for you, they could be just to the north of you guys but there is a chance you could see some.”

If it does get wet on Saturday, it is not solid rain, but the northern Coromandel Peninsula can expect heavier showers.

There are some ‘decent sized' easterly winds blowing though the Bay of Plenty, but they are mainly offshore, and the Western Bay of plenty is expected to remain sheltered.

Sunday's looking fine though, with just a little bit of cloud around, says Lisa.

'In fact the morning looks really good.”

Cloud is expected to increase from about lunch time Sunday with the south easterly flow sticking around.

Temperature is a maximum 22 degrees for both days.
