Enquiries continue into boat collision

TECT Rescue bringing occupants back to shore.

Police have resumed making enquiries into a boat collision which happened in the Tauranga harbour on Friday evening.

A loud bang was heard in Pilot Bay at about 8.30pm when two boats collided near the Tangaroa statue.

The noise was reportedly heard as far away as Salisbury Wharf, at the time of the incident.

A police media spokesperson who SunLive contacted today could not confirm whether any persons of interest had been identified to in relation to the incident.

'There is no update at this stage, Police are continuing to make enquiries.”

Who was the silly boy that did not have his anchor light on? AND Who failed to keep to a five Knot speed and failed to keep a safe lookout at all times. Both equally culpable me thinks.
