UPDATE 12.20pm:

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after colliding with a truck near Gate Pa.

A reporter at the scene says the accident happened on Cameron Rd near 22nd Ave.

"It looks as though a truck has hit a motorcyclist riding a high end scooter outside of Life Church.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital and the driver of the truck is being spoken to by police.

"People are picking up belongings from the road and putting them in a car."

A police media spokesperson says the accident happened just before midday.

"Police were called to a collision involving a truck and a cyclist on Cameron Road at 11.48am.

"The cyclist has been taken to hospital via ambulance and Police are currently speaking to those involved.

"Traffic is heavy in the area but flowing."
