Paralympians Adam Hall and Corey Peters will be among para athletes attending the ACC Paralympics Open Day in Tauranga on Sunday.

New Zealand has just enjoyed its most successful Paralympic Winter Games ever, with four-time Paralympian Adam Hall winning a gold in the men's slalom standing and bronze in the men's super-combined standing events.

Hall also received the Whang Yuon Dai Achievement Award, presented to only one male and one female Paralympian at each Paralympic Games who best exemplify the spirit of the Paralympic Games and the Paralympic values.

Corey Peters won a bronze medal in the sitting downhill skiing event on the opening day of the games, following on from two golds and a silver at the recent World Para Alpine Skiing Cup in the USA. Other para athletes attending the open day this weekend will be athletics representatives William Stedman and Anna Stevens.

The Paralympics Open Day is open for all to attend and will provide an opportunity to watch demonstrations and have a go at para sports such as table tennis, wheelchair basketball, para cycling, boccia and para athletics as well as meet the Paralympians and para athletes.

The open day is one of five organised by Paralympics New Zealand around the country to support and encourage New Zealanders with disabilities, their families and support people to get involved in para sport and learn more about the opportunities available in their region.

The Tauranga Paralympics Open Day will be at ASB Baypark, 81 Truman Lane, Mount Maunganui from 10am-2pm on Sunday, March 25.
