Carl Barron, a comedian from day one

'I killed when I was born,” says Australian comedian Carl Barron.

'People generally take one look at me and start laughing. My father told me that when I was born everybody started laughing. Even the nurses.”

This is Carl's response to SunLive when asked how crowds typically respond to his act.

Carl will be performing at Baycourt on Sunday April 29.

He says the show will have different material 'but it's still me saying it”.

'Which is way better than the same material with a different person saying it. It's like a fancy dress, you look different but essentially it's the same old dickhead.”

When asked what crowds can expect about the Drinking with a Fork show, Carl says he's buffed up.

'Not my body though, my head. It's bigger. This friend of mine the other day told me that every time he sees me, my head has gotten a little bit bigger. I reckon he's getting too close.”

Tauranga is just a number of places Carl is visiting during his New Zealand tour.

So far, Wellington has been one of his favourite stops.

'I love Wellington. I'm a big fan of wind. I just find wind so relaxing.”

Following this tour, the Australian comedian will probably take some time out at home.

'I'll probably go home, look in the mirror and try and see one of my eyeballs move. You can't do it but it's worth a try. You gotta aim high.”

Tickets to Carl's show are available via Ticketek.

SunLive has a double pass to giveaway to Carl's show.

Simply enter the competition online to be in to win.

Entries close on midnight Thursday April 26.
