What’s On? Dancing & Magic

The Papamoa Beach Tavern will be hosting dancing this afternoon. Image: Google Maps.

Greetings, sunners, and welcome to the last day of the week.

Even though it's June, and the nights are cold, with the sun out during the day it's actually quite pleasant.

Today the forecast is for cloudy periods and light winds, with a high of 15 and a low of eight degrees.

If you want to get out and about, there are a couple of family-friendly events on this afternoon.

In Papamoa, the Papamoa Bach Tavern is hosting an afternoon of dining, drinking and dancing. Zouk, Salsa, Bachata, Samba de Gafieira, Tango, modern jive, WCS – in fact, all dance styles are welcome at this Latin-infused get together. And best of all it's free, with dancing starting at 2pm. For more information visit the Facebook event page.

Meanwhile at Otumoetai College, the Andre Vegas Family Fun Magic & Illusion Show promises to entertain magic fans of all ages. Andre, formerly the resident illusionist at Rainbow's End for three years and a contestant on New Zealand's Got Talent, will perform nine illusions, with a few animals joining him on stage. Tickets to the 2pm show are $12 for kids and $20 for adults. For more information, checkout the Eventfinda page.
