Police can now release the name of the person who died in a single-vehicle crash in Whakatane.
Johnathan Teira Eparaima of Nukuhou died following a crash on Sunday morning.
"Police extend their sympathies to the 27-year-old's family at this difficult time," says a police spokesperson.
"The Serious Crash Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash."
