Minor injuries in morning crashes

Police at the scene of a crash in Te Puke this morning.

UPDATED 9.40AM: A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries in a crash on Takitimu Drive this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash, near the Waihi Road overbridge, at 8.21am.

'There were minor injuries and ambulance also attended,” says a police spokesperson.

The road was not blocked.

'There was also a report of a vehicle collided with a power pole in Te Puke shortly after 8am.

'It appears the pole/lines came down, however no one was hurt.”

Reports are also coming in of another crash, this time at the intersection of Totara Street and Hull Road.

EARLIER:

Reports are coming in of two separate crashes this morning, one on Takitimu Drive and another in Te Puke.

The first is reported to be a car versus motorbike on Takitimu Drive.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash is near the Waihi Road overbridge.

"Emergency services have been called."

The second crash is reported to be in Te Puke, near Boucher Ave, where a truck has taken out some powerlines.

Firefighters are at the scene.

Motorists are being warned of traffic delays as emergency services deal with this crash and the two-vehicle head-on crash from earlier this morning.
