Two arrested in Tauranga raids

Two people are due to appear in court following raids in Tauranga this morning.

A man, 37, and a woman, 38, have been charged with supplying psychoactive substances and possessing psychoactive substances for supply following search warrants carried out as part of Operation Fauna.

They will appear in Tauranga District Court on Friday, says a police spokesperson.

'Police restrained between eight and nine kilograms of synthetic drugs located at the residential address, as well as about $40,000 in cash and a car worth about $20,000.

'Operation Fauna demonstrates Police's commitment to the combatting the manufacture and sale of synthetic drugs within our communities and preventing the immense social harm they cause.”
