Reports are coming that a car is hanging on the edge of a bank on SH36.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the accident has happened near the TECT All Terrain Park.
"A car looks as though it's hanging over the bank.
"There are lots of cars who have pulled over to help."
SunLive has contacted police and will bring updated information as soon as it becomes available.

A bit too dramatic

The car ran off the road at the bottom of the gorge if it's the same one I saw. The left front was down the bank and the right rear wheel was in the air. There is black ice on the last right hand corner before the visitor area at the bottom and a car goes off each night when I go past at 5 o'clock. Why they don't put more signs up at that corner I don't know. I feel sorry for the woman driver walking out of the gorge...

The car is still there this morning with its butt up in the air, probably a better warning to motorists than road signs to slow down in icy conditions,and another car kissed the bank this morning on the tauranga side- roll on summer...
