Money box nicked from Tauranga bus

Police are investigating a theft from a Tauranga bus.

A police spokesperson says a money box was taken from a bus in Grenada Street at 5.40pm.

'Police are making enquiries.”

A Tauranga resident who was in a passing bus when the theft happened says they stopped to make sure the driver was ok.

'I was on my way home. Some guys gave chase, but I don't know what happened.”

Anyone with information about the theft are asked to contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Wet bus ticket

If they catch the crim(s) they will probably get a slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket from the justice system. What a waste of time for maybe $50.00 nicked. As a side note, do the buses have EFTPOS? If not why not....?
