Good morning SunLive readers and welcome back to Saturday.

So far we've had what I'd say is just the tip of a severe weather warning, but today it's looking slightly better.

There's still rain forecast for the day however with periods of rain developing from this afternoon and cloud cover for most of the day. Southwest breezes mean you might want to put an extra layer on, but it won't be too cold with a high of 15°c and your low hitting 9°c.

But other than that it's looking to be a great day, with loads of events on to keep you busy.

Admire some of NZ's best natural athletes as they take the stage at Baycourt Theatre. The atheletes will be battling it out for the top title from 12pm so make sure you catch the action.

And further down the road you can get an insider look at what it's like to be a true Te Puke local at their community expo day.

The event celebrates all of the fantastic services available in one of our neighbouring suburbs.

It's happening at Te Puke Plunket from 10am so make sure to head along.
