Hauraki districts businesses recognised

The deadline for entries has been extended to August 17

Business owners who haven't yet got their applications across the line for the Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards have been given extra time to enter this year's competition.

The deadline for entries has been extended to August 17. The original close off date was July 31.

Awards' spokesperson Kate Rigg says there are a good number of entries for some of the categories but it would be great to see a few more in other areas.

'We'd like to see a few more, particularly in the Rural, Manufacturing & Trade, Retail, and Community categories. Nominations for Service to Business are also still open.”

Hauraki District Mayor John Tregidga encourages all Hauraki businesses to get out on the field and showcase themselves to the wider community.

'Don't be shy. No business is too small, too new, or too inexperienced to pick up the ball, show us what they can do, and hopefully learn a few new tricks too.

'It's about putting yourself out there, giving it a go and meeting new people,” he says.

Nominations for The People's Choice award are now closed. Finalists will be announced on the Hauraki Coromandel Facebook page soon.

Voting for this award begins next week. All the winners will be announced at a gala event at the Grand Mercure Puka Park in Pauanui, on Thursday, September 27.

Full details about how to enter are on the Awards' website www.haurakicoromandelbusinessawards.co.nz
