Motorists are being warned of a road closure in Mount Maunganui tomorrow.

A section of Maunganui Road, outside the Zespri building site, will be closed to traffic for most of the day.

There will be detours in place and some of the nearby side streets may also be subject to closures.

The road closure is to allow a large crane to be safely dismantled and removed from the Zespri building site.

A spokesperson for Zespri says the road closures will be in place from 7am till 4pm on Thursday September 6.

'Residents, business owners, Zespri staff and customers will continue to have access to properties throughout the day.”

'Should weather of any unforeseen interruption arise, this operation will be rescheduled.”

Main Road Closure:

Maunganui Road will be closed in front of the Zespri building site.

Vehicle traffic will be diverted through Hinau Street and Puriri Street.

Surrounding Road Closures:

Terrace Ave will be closed from Maunganui Road to Wells Ave.

Matai Street will be closed from Maunganui Road to Miro Street.

Access from Bain Street onto Maunganui Road will be restricted
