Staff at Tony's Tyre Service in Mount Maunganui had to stop what they were doing when a compressor caught fire this morning.
Fire and emergency services are currently at the shop on Hewletts Road following reports of a blaze.
Fire and Emergency northern communications shift manager Craig Daily says that a compressor caught fire, sending the shed it was in alight as well.
'The fire is now under control and there were no injuries.”
