Motorists are being warned to expect traffic delays if travelling between Waihi and Paeroa.
Road works are currently being carried out by NZTA contractors on State Highway 2.
"Due to road works in this area, stop/go traffic management is in place," says the roading agency.
"Delays up to five minutes are possible."
There are also road works being undertaken on SH25, between Tapu and Coromandel.
