Lotto players celebrate $25,000 win

Lotto players in Waihi and Mount Maunganui are celebrating a $25,000 win.

The players who bought their tickets at Paper Plus Waihi and Toyworld and Bayfair Lotto are two of 38 players who won Lott's First Division prize pool last night.

This is the largest number of players to win Lotto First Division in a single draw since the game began in 1987.

Meanwhile, Powerball is on a roll with two lucky players from Hastings and Christchurch each winning $2.5 million with Powerball First Division.

The total prize of $2,525,000 is made up of $2.5 million from Powerball First Division and $25,000 from Lotto First Division.

The winning tickets were sold at Countdown Hastings in Hastings and New Brighton Lotto & Discounter in Christchurch.

This is second time in just one week that Powerball has been struck, with a player from Silverdale winning $7.2 million with Powerball last Wednesday.

With the prize yet to be claimed a week on from the win, Lotto NZ is urging players to check their tickets.

The unclaimed $7.2 million Powerball winning ticket was purchased at Pak N Save Silverdale for the draw on Wednesday 12 September.

Strike Four has rolled over and will be $200,000 on Saturday.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning locations should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.

Players can phone Lotto NZ on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.
