Police are continuing to look for a man who was the subject of armed police cordons in Mount Maunganui.

Numerous police officers were seen with rifles at several different locations around Tauranga on Monday.

At the time, a police spokesperson told SunLive that officers had received information about a man with outstanding warrants to arrest who had been seen driving a vehicle in the area.

'The person was not located and cordons were stood down by 4.30pm.

‘Police are continuing to make other enquiries to locate him.”
