Why are there so many accidents at Paengaroa on, or around, Wilson Road?

As a Te Puke local this recent accident isn't surprising. As I've said in other posts, we have a lot of cars on the road that should be taken off- they are obviously not roadworthy. The driving is abysmal, and it seems to be getting worse. We do have a lot of overseas drivers on our roads due to the kiwifruit industry and also tourists and a lot of them seem to think the speed limit is maximum 80km/h. Add all of this up with next to no policing and you get these accidents occurring on a regular basis.
