One injured in three car crash near Te Puna

Updated 6pm - One person has moderate injuries following a three car crash in Te Puna.

A police media spokesperson says the crash was reported at 5.38pm.

"This involved three cars and one person has moderate injuries.

"A tow is being organised for the vehicles."

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash is blocking a lane.

"There's likely to be a major backlog of traffic from this.

"Ambulance, fire and police are at the scene and the crash has blocked one lane."

Reports are coming in of a three car crash near Te Puna.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash has happened near the Wairoa Bridge, on Te Puna Station Road.

Poor driving. You can't blame the road all the time. Set up cameras at Bethlehem and enforce speeding and poor driving. That will stop at least 50% of the accidents.

Fancy this road having the temerity to once again play a significant part in this accident! Really? I wholly agree with The Sage and Angel74 though. The 'best' and 'safest' built road in the world will never compensate for poor/inattentive driving.
