Thousands of people have flocked to Rotorua for the Royal Visit.

Both sides of Queen's Drive were flooded with people who were eager to meet the newly-wedded couple, in what will be the only Bay of Plenty location they visit.

Janelle Rae, from Rotorua, only had to walk down the road to secure a spot where she could catch a glimpse.

'I'm a massive royal fan. I have all the cut outs of the royals.”

Tracey McRae Perry and her son, only had a short distance to travel as well.

'It's exciting,” she says. Although not a big royal fan, she was there for the experience. 'It's happening in Rotorua, so why not?”

Pania Waiomio was one of the lucky ones who got to have a conversation with Meghan.

'I can't even remember what I said to her. It's all a blur,” says Pania.

'I just blurted everything out.”

Pania says Meghan chatted with her for a while, but considers that might be partly due to the fact she was holding onto her hands, not letting her go.

Emily Poingdestre is another lucky person, who got to meet and chat to Meghan.

'It was so overwhelming. She was so nice and she is so pretty.

'I thought she would just walk straight past but she stopped and chatted.”
