What’s On: Armistice Day and QuarryFest

Good Morning SunLive readers and welcome back to Sunday, also known today as Armistice Day. It is 100 years since the end of World War One.

Weather-wise for today, it is looking fine with the odd chance of a shower this morning. There is also some light winds about.

Looking into the weather for this week, tomorrow is fine spells with a few afternoon showers, with the same forecast going into Tuesday.

Your high for today is 19 degrees with an overnight low of 13 degrees.

Today, as you might be aware, is Armistice Day. There are lots of ceremony's happening around the city, so make sure you head along.

Tauranga city's official Armistice Day service will begin with a march, starting at 10.45am at Memorial Park.

Road closures for this event will be in place from 9am till 2pm.

Roads that are closed are, Fraser Street, between 11th and 13th Ave. 11th Ave between Fraser Street and Devonport Road, including the roundabout, will also be closed.

Today is the day that Papamoa gets their new cenotaph unveiled, with a dedication starting at 2pm.

The Te Puna QuarryFest is also on today. It is a fundraiser for the Quarry committee and is run by the Bethlehem Te Puna Lions Club.

A whole range of different stallholders will be there, with something for everyone to enjoy.

An entry of $4 per adult is too paid at the gate.
