Cancellations and live dance

Good morning Sunlive readers and welcome back to a rather windy, wet Saturday - which also happens to be the first day of summer. Go figure!

The weather has got the one up on all the fun this weekend with many cancellations in place.

Both the Tauranga and Te Puke Christmas parades have been cancelled.

In addition the North Island Saloon Champs at BayPark family stadium have also been cancelled and postponed until December 8.

MetService has predicted showers turning to rain this morning, possibly heavy, and chance of a thundery evening. Gusty northeastersly, should be easing at night. The high today is 19°c with an overnight low of 17°c

So while that may put a damper on some of the day's activities, there's still a heap of indoor ones to be enjoyed.

For one, today marks the first day of December (that's right only 24 days until Christmas) - so why not get out and get your shopping sorted early?

Or if you prefer something more in the way of entertainment then head over to Baycourt where Gillian Moore School of Dance is presenting Beauty and the Beast at 1pm and again at 6pm.

Plus there's a ton of other indoor events which you can check out in the calendar below.

Before you do that however, I'll just go ahead and leave this one here to get you all in the festive mood. Happy nearly-festive season.
