The new Western Cycleway from the Whakapaewaka Bridge to the BMX track/Cambridge Park will be temporarily closed during the day for three weeks.

The works is to lay the final track surface.

'This will involve sweeping the surface of the track and laying new aggregate,” says a statement from Tauranga City Council.

'The works will require closure of this portion of track during working hours (7am-5pm), however it will be open in the evenings and weekends for everyone to enjoy.

'In the meantime, people wanting to access the bridge during the day will still have access through the valley, however, the track will be closed off from at the western abutment.”

The BMX track and Cambridge Park can still be accessed during the day via Cambridge Road.
