Reports are coming in of a police operation in the Katikati area this afternoon.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says there are police stopping motorists being using he Uretara Bridge, near State Highway 2.
Another caller says they saw police chasing a vehicle along the highway in the Athenree Gorge.
SunLive is unsure if the two events are related and have contacted police for more information.
