Police are reminding motorists to keep their vehicles safe, especially coming into summer.

This comes after police were called to a scene of a car fire on Stableford Drive, in Pyes Pa around 2.20am this morning.

One member of the public who messaged the SunLive Facebook page says they got woken up around 2am from a huge explosion that shook their house.

'I went out for a look and it was a vehicle that's always parked on the road, burning out.

'The tyres were going one by one.”

A police spokesperson says the fire is being treated as suspicious.

'Police are making enquiries,” says the police spokesperson.
