Water is currently out to residents on the Number 1 and Number 2 roads in Te Puke.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they have no water.

“We have been told it is due to a leak in one of the water tanks.”

A communications spokesperson from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council says the leak came from the Muttons reservoir on the Number 1 Road.

“There was a loss of pressure due to it being gravity fed, the leak will be fixed and water will be back in three hours.

“The water situation on Number 1 road will be restored in about three hours.

“The leak is getting fixed and that will be fixed in the next hour.

“So water will be restored to all of the people who don’t have water at the moment."
