Bay of Plenty Police are currently investigating the unexplained death of a 22-year-old man on Matakana Island.
Police were called to the island following reports of a sudden death at about 2.15pm.
Senior Sergeant Greg Turner says a post mortem will be conducted today.
"Police will also continue to make enquiries on Matakana Island."
