Packing goods were strewn all over the road when a truck and trailer unit rolled near the Kaimai Range summit.
Emergency services were called to the crash at 8.50pm.
A police spokesperson says the truck crashed about 1km from the summit on the Matamata side.
'The truck contained packaging goods.
'The driver suffered moderate injuries and the road was down to two lanes.”
It's unclear when the road was fully re-opened and NZTA is not reporting any road cautions for the area.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
