The family of a man who has not been heard from since New Year's Eve are sick with worry.

Theon Vernon was last seen in Waihi on December 31.

He was seen leaving a property on foot at midday, says a post on the Missing People NZ Facebook page.

Since then, no one has hear from him.

The post on Facebook says Theon has contacts in Tokoroa, Waihi, Hamilton, Whangamata and Christchurch.

Theon is described as a 23-year-old, Caucasian man.

Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact their nearest police station.
