UPDATE: A grass embankment at Bayfair Shopping Centre caught fire this afternoon.

"There was one fire applicance that put the fire out."

Earlier: A fire on an embankment near Bayfair is reported to be endangering vehicles in the carpark.

A SunLive reader says the fire is outside the new part of Bayfair.

"Firetrucks are here now and the cause is not known."

It is on a 20m piece of embankment near four cars.

A video sent to SunLive by David Appleton shows people attempting to put the fire out before fire crews arrived at the scene.
