Enquiries continue to locate alleged gunman

Police are continuing to make enquiries today to locate a person who allegedly fire shots in Te Puke.

Armed police were called to Te Puke around 5pm on Monday, following reports of a gun being fired.

Multiple reports were received by the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline, with one caller saying they saw about six or so police cars within the space of 10 minutes.

Police say the armed offenders' squad were called as a precaution.

The person responsible was not located and police are continuing to make enquiries into the matter today, says a police spokesperson.

People with information about what may have happened can contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
