What’s On: Weather, road closures and a TRYathlon

It’s going to be a fine day in the Bay of Plenty today. File Photo.

Good Morning SunLive readers and welcome back to another Sunday, also the first Sunday in February.

I can't believe its February already. I'm going to have to say it, this year is just flying by already.

Looking at your weather for today, it's going to be a fine day, with some sea breezes.

Your high will be 25 degrees with an overnight low of 15 degrees.

Looking at the weather for this coming week, tomorrow will be fine with some evening cloud. There will be some light winds and sea breezes.

Tuesday is also going to be mainly fine with some light winds and some sea breezes.

There are some road closures in place this morning, and that is due to the rescheduled Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon.

This event was meant to take place late last year but was postponed due to bad weather.

Road closures for this event are in place on Monowai Street (Grenada Street to Gloucester Road). The road will be closed from 7am to 2pm today.

During this time, lane closures will also be in place:

  • Gloucester Road (south bound lane only – from Monowai Street to Hibiscus Avenue)
  • Grenada Street (north bound lane only – from Hibiscus Avenue to Monowai Street)
  • Hibiscus Avenue (east bound lane only – from Gloucester Road to Grenada Street )

Resident access will be maintained throughout the event via a one-way system around Gloucester Road, Hibiscus Avenue and Grenada Street. Residents will be moved through the full closure on Monowai Street.
