It will be another scorcher of a day in Tauranga.

The forecast is for a high of 31 degrees and 15 degrees overnight.

But if you are out and about check out the The Extravaganza Fair.

It's a free entry fun for the whole family from 9am to 5pm today at the Soper Reserve, 95 Newton Street in Mount Maunganui.

There will be interesting market stalls, arts and craft, food, musical entertainment, circus shows, performers, unique to NZ tiny homes, including open home and kids shows & games.

There's also the New Zealand Stock Car Championship finals tonight at the Trustpower Baypark Speedway in Mount Maunganui from 6.30pm to 10pm.

Out of 180 cars 36 have made it to the finals to competed over 3 heats.

There will also the best of the rest will race for the consolation money.

Gates open at 5pm.
