UPDATE 2.45pm: Police haven't found the man they were looking for in an armed operation in Cheyne Road in Pyes Pa.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest, but there are no details as to why the man is wanted by police.

Police blocked off the road at the intersection of Karamu Terrace.

They have moved away from the scene and the traffic is now flowing normally.

There's an armed police operation underway in Cheyne Road in Pyes Pa.

The Road is blocked at the intersection of Karamu Terrace.

Sunlive photographer at the scene Cameron Avery says armed police are turning away cars.

He says there are several police cars and a police van further down the road.

As yet police have not released the details of the operation.
