A police operation in Te Teko has closed a section of State Highway 30.
The NZTA says the road is closed between Braemar Road and Grieve Road.
'Please follow the detour and allow at least an extra 15 minutes travel time.”
The detour route is through SH34 via Kawerau in both directions.
The road is closed until further notice.
Police officers are also in the area following an armed robbery of a bank this morning.
Police were called a bank on Fletcher Ave, Kawerau at 9.08am.
