A child has been locked in a car at a shoppping centre in Papamoa.
A police spokesperson says they are making enquiries into the incident.
'Police were called to a Gravatt Road, Papamoa commercial address about 10.40am following a report of a child left unattended in a vehicle.”
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE hotline says Postie Plus staff notified police as the adult responsible had been gone for 15 minutes without returning.
'It's 23 degrees outside, a child shouldn't be locked in a car regardless.”

Full marks to Postie Plus staff for calling police and helping to avoid what could well have been a tragedy.
