Man who died in Te Puke cycling accident named

Police have released the name of the cyclist who died following a crash in Te Puke on Tuesday, April 9.

He was 66-year-old Dennis Malcolm Hills, of Papamoa.

A police spokesperson says police extend their condolences to his family and friends.

'The crash occurred on the Te Puke Highway around 4.50am.

'The investigation into the crash is continuing.”

The occupants in the vehicle were okay, says police.

'The vehicle left the road and went off into a ditch."

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who can help the investigation is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300.
